These terms apply to the Lockhearth apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where the two differ, Apple's agreement governs the license itself.
Your keys, your responsibility
Lockhearth encrypts your vault with keys we never receive. We cannot reset your access, recover your recovery words or open your vault for you or for anyone else. Keeping your recovery phrase, your kit sheets and your device passcode safe is your responsibility. If you lose every way back in, your encrypted data cannot be recovered.
Lockhearth is not a backup service. Your iCloud copy is a synced replica: deleting something on one device deletes it everywhere. Use the full export to keep a separate copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Free use and Lockhearth Pro
- The free version includes up to 100 items, 10 videos and 3 tracked expiry dates, with recovery, the monthly check and export.
- Lockhearth Pro is offered as a yearly or monthly subscription, with a 14-day free trial for new subscribers. It can be shared with your Apple Family Sharing group.
- Subscriptions renew automatically through your Apple Account unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings.
- If Pro ends, you keep full access to read, open and export everything you stored.
Acceptable use
Use Lockhearth only for content you have the right to store and share. Do not use family sharing to send unlawful material, and do not attempt to break the app's security or interfere with other people's use of iCloud.
Emergency access
A trusted person you choose can request access to a selected part of your vault. Access is granted only after the waiting period you set and your explicit approval in the app. Lockhearth does not release data automatically if you do not respond. Your printed family kit, held by people you trust, is the way to leave your vault to someone who cannot wait for your approval.
Changes to the app
We test updates to make sure they do not lose local data, and we will never remove the ability to read and export your vault. Features may change over time; when a change affects these terms, we will update this page.
Warranty and liability
Lockhearth is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for data you cannot recover because recovery material was lost. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of your country.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without taking away the protection of mandatory consumer laws where you live. Questions: support@lockhearth.app.
